The man was bitten after falling off his board.
A Queensland man injured in a suspected shark attack has spoken of the moment he felt blood running down his body.
Craig McDougall was paddle boarding Bells Creek on the Sunshine Coast around 7am on Tuesday when something became tangled in his rope.
It pulled him from his board, into the water.
“I sort of braced for impact,” he told reporters.
“It got tangled in my leg rope and just pulled to the side and I dropped off.”
McDougall was bitten on his left wrist and suffered a minor puncture wound.
He applied pressure to his wrist and swam to shore to call for help.
"I could feel the warmth of blood running down my body I knew I was losing blood quick,” he said.
Paramedics treated him at the scene before he was taken to a local medical centre.
Queensland Ambulance officers say it’s possible the wound is from a shark bite but no shark has been sighted.
