Suspected shark bite sends boy to hospital from Jupiter marina
An apparent shark bite has sent a boy to a local hospital tonight, Palm Beach County Fire Rescue said.
Rescue teams responded to a vessel from the Bahamas that arrived shortly after 6:30 p.m. at Seasport Marina in Jupiter, said Capt. Albert Borroto, Fire Rescue spokesman.
A male juvenile suffered a possible shark bite to a leg, he said. Word of the injury came to authorities about 5:20 p.m.
He was taken to St Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach for treatment.
There was no immediate information on the severity of his injuries.
