A shark attack in Ouvéa, one injured evacuated

A young fisherman from the north of Ouvea was bitten by a shark on Tuesday afternoon in the north of the atoll. According to our information, the young man, aged 16, was hunting with a submarine rifle in the company of other older divers.
He would have moved away from the group to bite fish. A small shark would have liked to take its prey. The young man was then allegedly bitten in the left leg.
He escaped to Noumea at the end of the day. The vital prognosis is not engaged.

This new attack comes two days after the one that claimed the life of a 57-year-old man on Sunday at Îlot Maître in Nouméa.
