Woman attacked by shark at Tantabiddi Beach in Ningaloo Marine Park
A female surfer has been attacked by a shark near Exmouth.
The incident happened at about 10.30am this morning at Tantabiddi Beach in the Ningaloo Marine Park.
Is it believed the woman received non-threatening injuries after being bitten by an unknown species of shark.
St John Ambulance did not attend, but she was taken to Exmouth Medical Centre for treatment.
The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) are currently investigating.
Swimmers and snorkellers are advised to exercise extra caution in the Tantabiddi Beach area.
Fisheries Officers from DPIRD and Parks and Wildlife Officers from the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions will continue monitoring the area today, and from 8am tomorrow morning.
