Wobbegong Shark Attacks Snorkeller in NSW

A 46 year old man from Coloundra, NSW, Australia has ended up in hospital with serious chest woulds after being bitten by a 2 metre (6 feet) long Wobbegong Shark.

TWO men had to be convinced not to jump back into the ocean moments after a young man was mauled by a shark near one of Australia's most famous surf beaches, police said today.

RICHARDS BAY – A Springbok angler had 63 stitches to wounds in his hand, calf and thigh after a bloody encounter with a 150kg ragged-tooth shark he caught at Cape Vidal.

A 43-year-old surfer survived a white shark attack Sunday with only minimal wounds after the predator bit through his surfboard and dragged him undersea momentarily.

The surfer, Royce Frailey from Guerneville, was attacked around 11:50 a.m. while surfing with some friends off Dillon Beach in northwest Marin County, according to Marin County fire Capt. Rick Wonneberger.
